IPSC president tiedottaa maalis 2010

Post by Taisto Takkumaki »

IWA Show
--------
As usual, the annual IWA Show in Nuremberg was a very positive four days for IPSC. We had several productive meetings and everyone we talked to was excited about the upcoming Level IV matches and the Handgun World Shoot next year in Greece.

IPSC Pan American Shotgun Championship
--------------------------------------
Park Mammoth Resort, Kentucky, United States

The following is a message from Linda Chico, Match Director for the Pan American Shotgun Championship...

There were over 60 slots not used by Regions in the Pan American zone. In addition, IPSC Canada has a national handgun championship scheduled for the same weekend and not many Canadians will attend the Shotgun Championship. Since there were originally only 30 slots for out of zone competitors, this will allow more Asian, African and European shot gunners to join us.

2010 IPSC Pan American Shotgun Warm Up Postal Match: What is required?

First, the best news: entry in the Warm Up Postal Match is FREE. There is no charge for participation, although local clubs may charge a small fee to cover expenses.

Any IPSC member may participate and all current shotgun divisions will be supported.

You must set up the stages exactly as specified. You must have an IROA or NROI official to certify that the stages are set up correctly and that IPSC Shotgun Rules (January 2009 Edition) were applied to equipment and running the courses of fire.

Results must be submitted by email before 10 July 2010 in order to be eligible for prizes or awards. Complete instructions are posted on the website.

There are 3 very simple stages. The stages are available at http://www.panamericanshotgun.org/warmup.html

Level I Range Officer Seminars
------------------------------
By next week, the new updated Level I Seminar will be available on the Regional Directors' protected web site.

Level II will be coming shortly.

Both new Seminars will be conducted by Dino Evangelinos and Daan Kemp at the European Handgun Championship in Belgrade. This would be a good opportunity for regional instructors to grab a refresher.

Level I Seminar
2010-09-05
(2 days) Level I Seminar

Level II Seminar Serbia
2010-09-07
(1 day) Level II Handgun Seminar

You may contact Zoran Stamenkovia at zoran(@)ipsc.rs for more information and reservations.

Rules
-----
While at IWA, I had the opportunity to meet with Bob Chittleborough (Rules Committee Chairman) to consider the proposed new structure for the 2012 rule book. The new outline should greatly simplify the subjects into a much easier format, and we also discussed at some length the possibility of synchronizing of all three disciplines into a single user-friendly book.

European Commission on Aircraft Ammunition
------------------------------------------
It seems that effective April 29th, 2010, the European Union will implement new directives concerning ammunition on passenger aircraft. The language is not clear but, at this time, initial reports indicate that airlines may use this opportunity to attempt to further restrict passengers (us) from taking ammunition in the aircraft hold.

As usual, if in doubt, be sure to ask before booking a flight.

In the meantime, we are requesting that match organizers provide easy on-line instructions and procedures for receiving shipped ammunition ahead of time.

And, we are working with ammunition manufactures to provide Official Match Ammunition to our specifications. Not only to have available at major competitions but also to have available locally so shooters can shoot it prior to the event.

IPSC Annual Certificates
------------------------
The annual IPSC Certificates are being printed and should be posted in the next few of days.

That's everything at the moment.

You're in the loop...
